Process is one of the most talked about things in business yet it’s also the most ignored with great processes sadly the exception and not the rule.
In my 20-plus years in the automation industry, I’ve found two main reasons why so many organizations fail to deliver exceptional processes to their customs.
Buzzword alert: Culture and Technology
On the culture side, many organisations have a resistance to change.
I was once asked ‘Who is your biggest competitor at PIQNIC?’ My response: Inertia, incumbency and bureaucracy. Doing the same thing over and over and somehow expecting a different result. The definition of Madness!
Imagine if a surgeon were to treat a patient who had a chronic disease with a pain killer and a Band-Aid when in reality surgery was required. This is how many businesses think of process improvement - band aid measures in the guise of incremental improvement.
If that’s the answer then you’re asking the wrong question!
The Wrong Platform for Automation and Processes?
On the technology front, so many companies over-engineer the wrong platforms in an attempt to improve processes. They put fires out at micro levels rather than taking a step back and looking at the entire process. So let’s run a test to see if you can answer these four questions:
-
- What financing system are you running?
- What CRM platform do you use?
- What information management system do you use (this catches some out)
- What platform do you use for process management?
If you can’t answer them all then the answer is crystal clear. But don’t feel bad – especially if it’s the 4th question as that one stumps most people. Does this sound familiar?
“Oh, we use our CRM to automate.”
STOP!
A CRM is just a part of your business.
The Process Solution You Didn’t Know You Needed
Yes, most have lineal workflow but in isolation this will not transform your business or create great customer experiences. What is actually needed is a platform that is purpose built to manage ALL your processes across all of your business and all of your applications.
One that provides a functional layer where work, people and information are connected in harmony and your line of business applications can finally sit back and do what they’re good at instead of being poked at all the time.
But this requires surgery. Not everyone is equipped to perform it. Not everyone is brave enough to undergo it. This is why we developed PIQNIC – to meet all your process automation challenges in one platform.
Speak to the knowledgeable team at PIQNIC to find out how we can help you improve your processes with a tailored solution. Book your consultation now.
